Few cities in the world have more wildlife on their doorstep than Sydney. Just 15 minutes by boat from the Harbour Bridge lies an array of sea creatures including fur seals, dolphins, penguins, sea eagles and migrating humpback whales.
To promote Sydney’s world-class wildlife and natural beauty we have launched the city’s first private sea safari adventures. We have been showing guests beauty spots inside the harbour for years but this is the first time anyone has offered small groups the opportunity to head offshore and explore Sydney’s wilder side. “What’s remarkable about Sydney is that you have all this nature and dramatic scenery within eyeshot of the city, yet very few people get to experience it ‘up close’. As well as the diverse marine life that inhabits Sydney’s waters, we have these awesome cliffs that hold great significance to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, the Gayamagal people. They provide a breath-taking backdrop as we cruise along the coastline on our high-powered sports cruiser, in search of wildlife.”
This Ecotourism-certified Sea Safaris provide an opportunity to get an authentic and exhilarating wildlife fix, without venturing far from the city. Whales can be seen from June to November.
What you’ll do and see:
You’ll see some of the harbour’s most beautiful and secluded natural coves and beaches, then take a thrilling ride through the heads into the Pacific Ocean along Sydney’s dramatic coastline, toward Bondi or Manly. We never venture more than 4 kilometres from the coast and although we do not guarantee wildlife sightings, seals and dolphins are common year round and whales are prevalent between the months of June and November.
