For years, we’ve been introducing guests to the stunning beauty spots within the harbour. However, this unique offering is a chance for small groups to venture offshore and explore Sydney’s wilder side. “What’s remarkable about Sydney is that you have all this nature and dramatic scenery within eyeshot of the city, yet very few people get to experience it ‘up close’,” says our experienced guide. The awe-inspiring cliffs, significant to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, the Gayamagal people, provide a breathtaking backdrop as we cruise along the coastline aboard our high-powered sports cruiser in search of wildlife.

Our Sydney Open Sea Safari is not just an ordinary boat ride; it is an Ecotourism-certified experience that allows you to connect with the environment while enjoying an exhilarating wildlife adventure without straying far from the city. Between June and November, guests have the chance to see migrating humpback whales during their annual migration, adding to the thrill of your journey.

What You’ll Do and See

Your adventure begins as we navigate through the calm waters of Sydney Harbour, where you’ll witness some of the area’s most beautiful and secluded natural coves and beaches. From there, prepare for a thrilling ride through the heads into the open Pacific Ocean along Sydney’s dramatic coastline, heading towards famous locations like Bondi Beach or Manly Beach.

Although we never venture more than four kilometers from the coast, the excitement lies in the fact that wildlife sightings are common throughout the year. While we cannot guarantee encounters with every creature, it’s not unusual to see playful seals and dolphins swimming alongside our vessel. During the winter months, specifically from June to November, the chances of witnessing whales are at their peak.

The Sydney Open Sea Safari offers a private charter hire option, ensuring that the whole boat is yours for a unique and intimate experience.

  • 09:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Best time for whale watching – June 1st – November 1st)
  • 01:00 PM – 04:00 PM

The adventure is available seven days a week during the whale season, with surcharges applicable on public holidays and special occasions.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Points

Conveniently, we offer various pick-up and drop-off points, including Campbells Cove Jetty, Darling Harbour, or any publicly accessible or private harbour wharf.
